About the Practice

You practice across a diverse mixture of patients with generous consult times. Due to the local mining relationships in place, besides all the aspects of general practice on offer, there is also a varied proportion of occupational health such as rail & medical assessments that are in the mix. The Medical Centre is welcoming and fully computerised and services around 6-8k patients in the community.

The practice promotes comprehensive and thoughtful medical care for the mining community and whole family providing high quality services such as:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of short term and chronic illness.
  • Minor operative procedures including vasectomy and Implanon
  • Travel advice and immunization
  • Men’s and women’s health checks
  • Skin Cancer checks and treatment
  • Occupational medicine and pre-employment medicals
  • Childhood vaccinations
  • Obstetric care
  • Botox treatments.
About the Hospital

The local mining operator recently contributed $20 million into modernising the local hospital to include an Emergency Department, Inpatient Ward and Consulting rooms for visiting Services. About the Clinical Director

Dr Philip Gaudin is the Clinical Director with more than 14 years of clinical experience in a wide range of medical settings, a capable and trustworthy leader and physician. Philip studied medicine and surgery as an undergraduate at James Cook University and worked at several public-sector sites across metropolitan, regional and rural and remote settings. He is also the Chair of the Private Practice Section for the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine.

The Criteria

  • General or Specialist AHPRA Registration
  • ALS2 equivalent
  • 1:2 to 1:3 ED on-call component
