Typical Day:
- 08:00: Commence shift — take handover from nursing staff, review inpatients
- 08:00 – 19:00: Cover ED presentations and inpatient ward management throughout the day
- Ongoing: Inpatient reviews, stabilisation and transfer of higher acuity cases as required
- 19:00: RMC overnight support begins — you remain primary doctor on site but have on-call backup available
On-Call:
- 7/7 on-call coverage — you are the primary clinician on site for the full 24-hour period
- RMC provides overnight telephone support from 19:00 – 07:00
- Clear escalation and transfer pathways to larger centres for higher acuity cases
- Solo doctor model on weekends and public holidays
